The Whiplash Leadership Team Meetings Members Only

Getting to know TCP

Tri-City Plus Association of Insurance Women, Inc., was incorporated and chartered in March of 1973, as an affiliated association of the National Association of Insurance Women, International.

As times changed so did TCP and our name changed to Tri-City Plus Association of Insurance Professionals, Inc., which we believe more accurately depicts that the association is made up of insurance professionals.

In 1973, the Tri-City Plus name was devised to establish that our members were from the cities of Mesa, Tempe and Chandler, Arizona, which were known then as the Tri-Cities. We added the PLUS for Scottsdale. Of course, membership is no longer limited to those that work or live in these area, as any insurance professional can become a member of this association.

Our association began with only seven (7) charter members who had a vision of an association in the Tri-Cities area as there was only one such group in the Metropolitan Phoenix area at that time. Some of those charter members are still active in TCP.

Because of the leadership teams that TCP has had over the years, we have grown in numbers and in stature within NAIW. We have developed leaders not only in NAIW, but in the insurance industry. We can proudly say that we have produced Arizona Council Directors; Region VIII Vice Presidents, NAIW national committee chairs and committee members. We have also been active in the I. I A. B. of Arizona with TCP members being I. I. A. B. local chapter presidents, and the first woman to serve as president of that association is a member of TCP and other TCP members have been and are currently serving on the I. I. A. B. of AZ board of directors and as state committee chairs.

Education is a major focus of this association and we have had much success in teaching the NAIW courses, as well as, institute programs, such as the INS series. We believe in keeping education at the forefront of our association goals.

We are also very active with community projects by supporting not for profit organizations each year, not only during the holidays, but throughout the year. We have a very strong interest in women’s health issues and participate with the American Cancer Society on the "Walk for the Cure" breast cancer walk in Tempe, AZ. We also support Bosom Buddies, a volunteer organization that assists breast cancer survivors and their families through difficult times, the Salvation Army, Friends of the Family and many others.

Please check out the various sections of our web site to learn more about TCP our activities, meeting dates and our products. You can also click on our "Contact Us" link for Membership and Reservations contacts.
